ASPC Advisory Support

ASPC is currently the acting advisory committee for:

Healthy Brain Intiative - The County of San Luis Obispo Public Health Department was awarded funding from the California Department of Public Health Alzheimer’s Disease Program to implement Healthy Brain Initiative Roadmap activities locally in response to the high rates of Alzheimer's and dementia in our community. The Adult Services Policy Council (ASPC) will act as the advisory committee throughout the needs assessment, strategic planning process, and implementation. Public Health will collaborate with community partners, including the Alzheimer's Association Local Chapter and the Promotores Collaborative, to provide essential resources and strategies that promote brain health, detect early signs of dementia, and support caregivers.

Additionally, ASPC hosts the Advisory Committee for the Local Aging and Disability Action Planning program:

Local Aging and Disability Action Planning (LADAP) 2023-2025  (include paragraph about LADAP) - The County of San Luis Obispo Department of Social Services was awarded funding to augment a preexisting effort to develop a local blueprint for aging across the lifespan. This planning and capacity-building program will seek to support the community and supportive organizations in planning for and addressing the needs of SLO County older adults, people living with disabilities, and professional and family caregivers of today and tomorrow. The project looks to align its efforts with the State of California’s Master Plan on Aging.

The Local Aging and Disability Action Planning project’s Advisory Committee is held in collaboration with the Adult Services Policy Council (ASPC) and YOU the members of our SLO County community!

To participate in the planning process, fill out our General Interest form!
